Chairman Tanaka provides a geopolitical analysis, describing a global competition between ‘petro-states’ (like the US, Russia, Saudi Arabia) and ’electro-states’ (like China, Europe, India). He suggests that Japan and Korea should cooperate in nuclear energy and clean hydrogen, and advocates for expanding free trade agreements like the CPTPP to promote green technologies. The ceremony concludes with a call for open and imaginative discussions to drive innovation.
